Staycationing in Chattanooga for Fall Break?
Living in Chattanooga, we all know that there are tons of things to do and enjoy in our area! Since Hamilton County Schools are starting Fall Break soon, we thought we would highlight some upcoming events that week, and other cool things to do in Chattanooga to make it the best break ever!
Events:
3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival – Since it started in 2007, the 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival was meant to fun and family-friendly (and FREE) to all who enjoy hearing the sweet sounds of pickers old and young, famous and up and coming. This takes place on the riverfront at Ross’ Landing October 4th and 5th. (http://www.3sistersbluegrass.com/)
Wine Over Water is incredibly popular and seems to get better every year! Enjoy a lovely evening strolling over Chattanooga’s iconic Walnut Street Bridge and enjoying tons of wine and other vendors for an evening of fun! Chattanooga Motorcar Fest 10/10-10/13 – The first annual Chattanooga Motorcar Fest is taking place downtown and it looks to be an amazing display of classic car events on a world-class scale! Go to their website to learn more about tickets and events (https://www.chattanoogamotorcar.com)
More Than Folk: Celebrating Self-Taught Artists opened at the Hunter Museum of American Art on 9/13 and features art from the mid to late 20th century created by artists who came to art late in life as a means of self-expression and of employment. Chattanooga Oktoberfest at the Chattanooga Market is on tap and ready to roll October 12 & 13!! Everyone knows how much fun this one is for all!

Lastly, for the history buffs out there…have you ever wondered about the historical markers you see alongside the roadways around our Chattanooga area? You slow down, see one word and then forever a mystery until you drive by again to see the second word?? Now you can see what historical markers are located near your location by visiting The Historical Marker Database web site. You can search for the markers near your location, and even make a day of visiting historical places you may not have even known existed!
