Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! One of the best parts about this holiday is that there are endless opportunities to be creative with DIY projects. Decorations, costumes, and party food and drinks are just a few of the DIY category options. Although projects are time consuming, they allow you to make unique, creative, inexpensive things to really get you into the Halloween spirit. Pinterest has plenty of ideas this time of year and I love it because people’s creativity amazes me. But how can we celebrate something we know nothing about? So, I want to take a little bit of time to cover the history of Halloween.
Halloween originates from the Celtics. During this time of the year as the harvest season transitioned into winter they would dress up to scare the ghosts away. As time went on and customs changed, Pope Gregory III delcared November 1st All Saints’ Day and October 3st All Hollow’s Eve. Traditions continued to change and as people in America adopted the holiday, they transformed it into the kid friendly event we have today!!
