fall decorations that will give your home a warm and cozy feel

Posted OnSep 02, 2020

Apple picking, leaf peeping, and hayrides are fun and all, but sometimes the best part of fall is simply cozying up in the great indoors. That’s where these fall decorations come into play. When done just right, you’ll give your front porch, living room, bedroom, or any other space in your house a taste of autumn with pumpkins, plaid, chunky blankets, and more seasonal staples. Some of these ideas require your DIY skills (no matter how novice), while others simply provide inspiration for an autumnal makeover (think: swapping bright summer blooms for fall flower arrangements in shades of orange, burgundy, and yellow). Even if you’re on a tight budget, there are affordable ways to highlight all that the season has to offer, whether it’s with freshly-picked flowers from your backyard or dip-dyed taper candles made with materials you already have at home. When all is said and done, you’ll be surprised by how even the most basic home decor, like wreaths, throw pillows, and dining table centerpieces, can transform your space into the cozy autumn retreat you’ve always dreamed of.

1. Make your backyard cozy – Just because the temperatures have taken a nosedive doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the fresh fall air. Just add string lights, plush blankets, fuzzy throw pillows, and lanterns to cozy up your space.

2. Display Mini Pumpkins – Combine acorn string lights with mini pumpkins in a shallow rustic dish for an instant (and seriously easy) centerpiece.

3. Hang Seasonal Plants – Shift your back porch from summer to fall by hanging orange-tinged foliage that offers up autumn vibes.

4. Add some fall candles – The best way to get into the fall mood is by adding the perfect fall scent around your home!

5. Throw on some comfy blankets – After the heat of summer, you’ll be oh-so-ready to bring on the chunky blankets. Mix in your favorite flannel PJs for peak coziness.
