SUMMER TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES

The countdown is set, school is almost out! What are you planning to do this summer?  Here’s a short list of day trips AND free things to do with your kids around Chattanooga this summer!

Day Trips (These destinations vary in costs, but hey, it’s a road trip!)
1) New Echota State Park (Calhoun, GA) –  http://gastateparks.org/NewEchota

Free Activities
1) Chattanooga Aquarium splash rivers and water stairs -You don’t have to go into the aquarium to enjoy the aquarium!  The Aquarium complex offers a super neat splash river and water stairs that are fun to play and cool off!  Snag a sweet parking spot on Riverfront Parkway, pack a picnic and enjoy the fountains!
2) Chattanooga Sculpture Fields at Montague Park – totally free and open to the public the Sculpture Fields at Montague Park is located on the south side of town.  This is such a treasure, offering huge outdoor art installations by world renowned artists!  Check it out: https://www.sculpturefields.org/
3) Need wide open spaces, and a place to swim?  Check out Chester Frost Park located in the Hixson area. This park, operated by Hamilton County, boasts swimming and beaches, picnic pavilions, playground, camping and season activities!
4) Pumpkin Patch Playground on Signal Mountain – This unique playground has recently had a HUGE facelift over the last year and it is SO cool!!  Equipped for bigger kids or little kids, this playground offers unique and fun playground designs and activities that your whole family will enjoy! 5) Plan your route on the TN Riverwalk! This is a huge system of walking/biking paths that run along the TN River, accessible from multiple points from the Chickamauga Dam all the way downtown. http://www.hamiltontn.gov/tnriverpark/
