Buying a home is probably the biggest investment you will ever make, did you know that there are multiple costs in addition to your list price to be aware of when buying a home? All the “extras” that are behind the scenes can be scary if you are not prepared for them. Take into account the inspection.  Sometimes they are not required, but it is important to know what you are buying before it is too late and honestly, what is a few hundred dollars to losing your earnest money or spending hundred of thousands of dollars on a money pit of a home? Survey costs are also something to consider as well as taxes, moving costs, closing costs, etc.  Ask questions and prepare yourself so you can go into the home buying process as an expert rather than getting in over your head.
